Spinning Exercise Routine
A typical class video
Understanding a normal spinning exercise routine can be difficult for many people. At its most basic form, it just sounds like you're riding an exercise bike, so why bother going to a special class for it? I've included two videos that do a great job of showing you what a spinning exercise class is like. While they lack the angry instructor and the pounding techno music, they are still great examples of what you might expect.
The first key piece to note in these videos is the changing positions. In much the same way that people working on a track will alternate between sprinting and jogging, the people in the videos are mixing up a number of different positions on the bike. They will go at high speeds, and then try and relax for a few minutes afterwards to catch their breath and get their heart rate back on track.
The second piece is the unity in the activity. You will notice everyone in the same positions, all working very hard at the exercises. This is the biggest part of a spinning exercise routine, and why I find them so effective. Seeing everyone partake in this activity will make you push yourself harder. If they can do it, why can't you?
Overall, spinning is a fun, challenging group activity that is really changing the way people think of exercise. Check out the videos and see what you think.
